You guys . . . where do I even begin with this session? I have a million things to say about these people and these pictures and what our time together felt like. And I feel like my fingers can't type fast enough paired with the fact that anyone reading this didn't sign up to dig into a novel . . . sooooo this is what I WILL say. Katie is my friend. She is one of those friends that you wish you had so much more time with. Like, coffee date every week kind of time. She laughs. A LOT. And that is probably what I find most beautiful about her. She is real. So real. So "what you see is what you get". And she is an amazing mama. Her boys are good. Like, really, really good. SUPER sweet. And I totally wouldn't be upset if my Bea ended up with her Mills. Just sayin'. But I digress . . . We met when she first contacted me about taking her oldest son's one year milestone pictures. We hit it off. But it wasn't until we got together for her youngest's newborn pictures that I was all like, "Uuuuhhh, I like you. I think we should be friends." And so we became friends. And there is a lot of laughter when we get together. And this session was no exception. If anyone likes to beat a dead horse, it's me (just ask my husband . . . ) so it's no surprise to read that their AT HOME LIFESTYLE FAMILY SESSION preeeeeetty much had me, what are they saying these days . . . "feeling all the feels." (Really? Must we talk like this people??? I really can't stand this "social media lingo" - it just feels so lame. Yes, I just admitted that out loud! STOP trying to be cool and fit in, people, and just post normal thoughts with normal words and phrases!!!!). I shared the photos in chronological order, as I took them and as moments happened. There is no rhyme or reason as to when I take pictures, who I'm taking pictures of, how I take them, what order or why. I just take them. And if that means your four year old is awake when I get there, your two year old is still napping, your husband is still getting ready and you're still maybe stressing about what you're wearing . . . then we pour a glass of wine (or coffee, depending on the time of day), we chat and we let the magic of your every day unfold in the most beautiful way. Like I wrote on my website . . . just be together. I will take care of the rest. I adore you, Katie, and that family of yours. Thank you, friend, for letting me do my thing while you four marvelously did yours.
